2026 Senior Letter

This is such an exciting time for all seniors and parents. We’re excited and sad to see this time end for our current seniors.  Please take a minute to review the deadlines, important dates and information. 

April 2nd Thursday Deadline to pay for Senior Dinner Dance purchase @ pleasantgrovevikings.com

April 17th Friday East Shore PE Week 1 Removed

April 20th  Monday - Senior Dinner Dance, Thanksgiving Point Barn  3003 N Thanksgiving Way, Lehi, UT 84043  

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm  Students are responsible for transportation. Semi-Formal Dress $40

April 21st Tuesday - Honor Cords list posted, counseling office window and newsletter

April 24th Friday East Shore PE Week 2 Removed

April 30th  Thursday -  Spirit Bowl 9:00 am   

May 1st  Friday East Shore PE Week 3 Removed

May 2nd  Saturday - Prom @ Thanksgiving Point Electric Park $25 per person $50 per Couple 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM

@ the door $30 person $60 per couple

May 4th Monday through Friday May 15th  AP Testing                                  

May 5th Tuesday - Honor cords now available for purchase, $7 in the finance office

May 6th Wednesday - 12:15 to 3 PM Student Center. Cap and gown distribution for those on track to graduate.

Wednesday - All Library books due

May 7th Thursday - All fines posted. Does not include textbooks and Senior Chromebooks

May 8th Friday Recommended Deadline for all ESO assignments and tests

Friday East Shore PE Week 4 Removed

May 12th Tuesday - Graduation seating chart posted  - Counseling office window. Graduate will need  their row # and the row leader's name.

May 13th Wednesday - Start textbook and chromebook return to library

May 14th & 15th - Thursday & Friday from 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM The big “PG” will be available in the commons for graduates to take

pictures with their cap and gown. The “PG” will NOT be available on graduation day.

May 14th Thursday East Shore Firm Deadline All assignments are due by 5 pm No Exceptions

May 15th Friday -A Day Finals

 East Shore Testing Only 7:30 AM to 4 PM. No testing after 4 PM (Last test request 3:45 PM) 

 East Shore will be closed May 18th - 22nd. Reopening on Tuesday, May 26th.

ALL FEES AND FINES WILL BE POSTED AND UPLOADED TO MYSCHOOLFEES.COM BY 8 PM.

May 18th Monday B Day Finals

*Early Yearbook Distribution Yearbook Stomp 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm for students with no outstanding fees or fines.

May 19th  Tuesday -  Lagoon Day (Seniors only)  6:40 AM meet at Orem Frontrunner station 1350 W 900 S Orem, Utah. Please park in appropriate parking spots.  Departing at 7:28 AM and returning at approximately 6:29 PM Lunch is on your own. You may NOT drive your own car.  Lagoon is not open to the public on this day. Code to purchase will be sent at a later date. 

May 20th - Wednesday - MANDATORY Graduation practice - PGHS Auditorium 9 AM

* Yearbook Distribution 8:00 AM  - 11:00 AM Front Office

*Senior Sunset 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM @ Tennis Court Pavilion (Free)

May 21st Thursday - GRADUATION  - Seniors arrive at the BYU Marriott Center at 2:30 PM

Processional will begin promptly @ 3:15 PM  - Ceremony begins @ 3:30 PM   Front Office Hours 7 am - 11 am

Only seniors who have met ALL the graduation requirements

may participate and walk in the graduation ceremony.

May 21st Thursday - The All Night Party at Boondocks costs $65. Seniors will be bussed to the event at 9:00 PM PGHS, returning to the school at 2:30 AM. Students must ride the bus to Boondocks and back. 

May 23rd Saturday - Pig Stock 12pm to 10pm Lower Field $5

IMPORTANT - Graduation Information  PLEASE READ

Thursday,  May 21st -  BYU Marriott- 3:15  

Only the Seniors who have met ALL the graduation requirements may participate and walk in the graduation ceremony.

2:30 PM - Seniors arrive at the BYU Marriott Center and line up on the South side of the bldg.

3:00 PM - Lines start moving into the Marriott Center

3:15 PM - Processional promptly begins

3:30 PM -  Ceremony begins

Students' names will be read when passing the PG, they will be on camera when receiving their diploma.

 

Graduation Dress & District guidelines: 

The cap and gown issued by the school represent the uniform for Alpine School District graduation and should be worn appropriately and unaltered, no painting or decorating caps.

All PGHS Graduates will wear a blue cap and gown with a blue and white tassel.

Honor cords and other cords: Students may wear Academic Cords distributed by PGHS - Gold and Silver, Associates Degree, CTE, and Biliteracy, if earned.

Silver and Gold Honor cords will be available for purchase to eligible students beginning Tuesday, May 5th, in the finance office; the cost is $7.00. A list of seniors (by student ID #) earning this recognition will be posted Tuesday, April 21st, in the counseling office window. A QR code with that information will also be in the weekly newsletter. The finance office will also have a list.

GOLD CORD = students earning a 3.95 - 4.0, SILVER CORD = students earning 3.70 - 3.949. (No exceptions)

Based on students cumulative grade point average by the end of the THIRD TERM (March 6th, 2026.)

Graduates may wear ONE religious or cultural significant object, such as a lei (no candy or cash leis), flowers, feathers and necklaces. Representations of drugs, violence, politics, flags, or other non-religious or non-culturally significant objects are not permitted. To avoid last-minute misunderstandings or frustrations, cultural adjustments to the graduation wear (other than those listed above) must be pre-approved by the PGHS Administration

Disability Access at BYU There is wheelchair access/seating at each portal of the Marriott Center. An ASL interpreter will be in section 14 for hearing impaired guests. For any other needs, please see a BYU usher for assistance. No bags are allowed at BYU Marriott except: Medically necessary bags and reasonably sized diaper bags.

  • Guests can enter any door - the audience will be seated on the Southside, portals D-M.

  • Graduates, please line up on the south side of the Marriott Center. After the ceremony, meet family and friends on the north side.

  • BYU/Fire Marshall will not allow helium balloons, airhorns, cowbells, or confetti cannons on campus or in the Marriott Center. No large signs or pictures staked on BYU grounds.  They will confiscate them

  • The grassy area just north of the light at 450 East may be used for a family gathering area (i.e. drum circles, tailgate/picnics, etc.)  At the request of BYU and PGHS, all family celebrations are to be held at home or other locations outside of BYU grounds.  We want all our graduates to feel celebrated.

  • Remember you represent Pleasant Grove High School, your family, and your community; please act accordingly. We appreciate your help in keeping our graduation ceremony dignified.
