It’s Not the Plane, It’s the Pilot! 2024-25 School Theme

Monday, April 21, 2025

Aviators,

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to thank you for staying connected and informed so we can help these kiddos finish strong!

Please make a note of the following:

1.  Administration Message

Mr. Reynolds reminds us that growth often happens when we step outside our comfort zones. Check out his quick message on how to lean into challenges and finish strong:

Watch the video here.

2.  Driver’s Ed Sign-Ups Now Open!

Looking to take online Driver’s Ed during the summer? Sign-ups are now open online on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait! Sign up online at the bottom of our Website. If you have any questions, please email Mr Roberts at [email protected]. Secure your spot today and get on the road to earning your license!

3. Lunch Balances

We are in the process of resolving negative lunch balances and need to make sure you are aware of your account to ensure you have enough in your accounts to cover your student(s) lunches for the remainder of the year.

4. Bus Evacuations

The transportation department is required by the state to perform bus evacuations twice a year. The final bus evacuations have started. We appreciate your cooperation and support. If you have any questions, contact David or Rex.

5. CLASS OF 2025 EMAIL MIGRATION

Seniors will receive an email to their @alpinesd.org email around April 28 that will explain the process for migrating their data from their school Gmail account to a computer or other account. They will lose access to their Alpine account in the summer after graduation.

6. Aspire Testing Make-ups

We are working to finish all end-of-state testing in the next 2 weeks.  As such, any freshman or sophomore who was absent during the first Aspire testing sessions will be called down to the testing center to complete their Aspire tests.  If you have any questions about the Aspire test, please contact the administration (Mr. Twitchell or Mr. Reynolds), and check out this link.

Good to Know:

  • Aspire tests won’t lower a student’s grade but can help raise it.

  • Aspire is excellent prep for the ACT and licensure exams.

  • Results help determine the school’s academic ranking.

Good to know:

  1. State testing may not negatively impact a student’s grade, but a teacher can use it to improve a grade.

  2. The Aspire test is a great way to prepare students for the ACT and licensure tests.

  3. It is also used by the State to determine a school’s academic ranking.

Honor Cord List Congratulations to our seniors who are eligible to purchase honor cords. The list is posted outside the Student Center and the Financial Office. These are based on the 3rd term Cumulative GPA. The cost is $6.00 per cord, and it is optional to purchase.
