It’s Not the Plane, It’s the Pilot! 2024-25 School Theme

Monday May 5, 2025

Happy Cinco de Mayo! It’s hard to believe we’re already in May—the end of the school year is coming up fast. There’s a lot of excitement in the air with big events like graduation just around the corner, and students are working hard to finish strong.

This time of year can be tricky. The warm weather makes it tempting to check out early, but these last few weeks really matter. One of the best ways you can support your student is by checking Skyward and Canvas with them every couple of days. Just a quick look can help catch anything that needs attention before it’s too late.

Let’s keep encouraging our students to give it their best all the way to the finish line. We’re almost there!

Please make note of the following:

1.  Administration Message Link Here

Mr. Sivert dives deep into what it really means to endure.

What do you do when you hit a wall—physically, emotionally, or professionally?

Do you turn back… or do you break through?

2. Jet Fuel

Introducing this week’s Drink of the Week: Barrel Roll! This tasty Root Beer treat gets a boost from pumps of vanilla cream, coconut cream, and raspberry puree. Pair it with our chocolate chip cookie for the ultimate combo. And don’t forget you’ll get 10% off your Barrel Roll this week!

3. CVHS Greenhouse Sale!!

Our Greenhouse Management students have been working hard learning about plant production in our greenhouse this semester! Please join us for our greenhouse plant sale:

Friday May 9th, 3:00-6:00

Saturday May 10th, 10:00-1:00

All proceeds will go to support the greenhouse and leadership activities for the coming year. You can find a list of plants we have available at cvhsgreenhouse.weebly.com.

4.  Important Reminder for Parents and Guardians

Please ensure that all student accounts are paid in full and that any outstanding items—such as library books, calculators, textbooks, and other school materials—are returned no later than May 12th.

Students with unpaid balances or unreturned items will not be able to pick up their yearbook (If a yearbook was purchased) nor be able to participate in the Lagoon Day for seniors!!

All school fees must be paid as soon as possible to avoid accounts being sent to Cherrington Collections Agency. Contact Wendy Staheli at [email protected] with any questions you may have.

5. Yearbooks

We have about 80 Yearbooks left.  Yearbooks are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and we expect to sell out. Be sure to get yours early!

The last day to purchase a yearbook online is May 16th at noon. After that, yearbooks will only be available for purchase in person at the Finance Office starting May 19th for seniors and May 20th for 9th-11th grade.

Not sure if you bought a yearbook?  Contact Wendy in the Finance Office—she can check for you!

6. Senior Dinner Dance Tickets Must be purchased by 3:00 pm Thursday May 8th

Parents and Seniors, tickets for the Senior Dinner Dance, held at the Utah Valley Convention Center on May 17th, must be purchased by Thursday May 8th at 3:00 pm so that a count can be given to the caterer. Tickets will be removed from the website at that time and will no longer be available.  This is a hard deadline set by the caterer.  Please purchase your tickets now, I will not be able to accommodate orders after the deadline.  Please spread the word to other Seniors and parents of Seniors!  While you are making your purchase, I highly recommend you also purchase your ticket to the Grad Night party.  Those tickets will increase in price after May 19 because a count needs to be given to the venue at that time.  Your best bet is to go to cvaviators.com or the gofan app and purchase your tickets today!

7. Senior Chromebook Buyback and Returns

Graduating seniors are eligible to buy their 4-year-old Chromebook for $30 through myschoolfees.com. The deadline to purchase is Tuesday, May 13th at 12:00 PM (noon).

If your senior does not wish to purchase their Chromebook, it must be returned on Tuesday, May 13th. We will call students down to the gym by last name to turn in their devices. They must bring both the Chromebook and its charger.

If you have any questions, please contact the Chromebook Center in D254.
